Dan Haas Band

“I lead a double life.

I am both an original songwriter, and a musician/entertainer who performs cover songs. I’ve played bars, concerts, weddings, taverns, birthday parties, pubs, anniversaries, corporate functions, restaurants, festivals, fairs, and just about everywhere and anything else you can imagine. And yes, I enjoy being both!

To be a successful original artist, one absolutely must tour. It is the best way to get your music out there in the world. But for me… having a wife and three kids, a day job, and a full music schedule here locally in MD, the ability to tour extensively is not really in the cards. So yes, playing music live locally, both covers and originals, helps me cover the costs of recording and creating my own original music.

It may not be for everyone, but it is my way. A way that I’ve figured out how to carve out a living in the music business.

I love what I do, and I think it shows when I am singing and playing my guitar. Whether I am performing my songs, or a famous song that has been played thousands of times, being able to make people happy with music is, in my opinion, the most important aspect of what I do.

My live performance create moments, and hopefully great memories. My recorded original music hopefully enhances one’s lives and memories. Or at least I hope…

Thank you for stopping by, and if you are considering me and my band for a future event, here are some emails from just a few of my band’s satisfied customers.”

Best,
Dan

Dear Dan,

I just wanted to pass along a quick note of appreciation for the extremely fine job you and your band did providing music at my daughter’s wedding on Sunday night. I was particularly thrilled to come in from outside to hear you warming up with a prelude to Wax Fang’s “Majestic” and very delighted that the prelude was played while they were cutting the cake just before the father daughter dance. Your rendition of Majestic was damn near note-for-note perfect. And as live music it was unbeatable. Finally, I must also say that not only my wife and I, but just about every other baby boomer in the room was greatly appreciative that the music you played for dancing was predominantly our generation’s music and we were very very thrilled to dance to it. You have my vote as the best wedding band ever. I wish you much success in the future and you can count this father of the bride as one extremely happy satisfied customer.

Sincerely,
Leo

Dan-

I can’t thank you enough for making our wedding absolutely perfect! You were able to capture all of our energy and keep the night going until the very end. Thanks for being so laid back and easy to work with- learning our song last minute, coordinating my dad to sing, and letting my brother jam out for a bit. I will be recommending you to everyone I know- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Just want to thank you for everything and for playing a really kick ass wedding reception. You guys were just fantastic. Can’t tell you how many people have told me how much fun they had dancing. You guys knew just what to play.

Thanks also for learning our first dance and the Kenny Chesney song. GK said you sang it better than Kenny himself. I would seriously love a recording of you playing grow old with you, you definitely owned it.

Thanks again, Dan. I’d be happy to provide references to any nervous bride or groom, should you ever need one.

Cheers,
Jane

Dan —

Today is our first day back from our honeymoon, and I’ve been eager to write to say thank you so much for performing at our wedding. Needless to say, you guys were an absolute hit and we could not have been more happy with the music, the emceeing and just your laid back style in allowing all of the little interruptions for speeches, Allison’s nephew as a guest drummer and I think my sister commandeering the mic at one point to belt out the Buffalo version of Shout (it’s a Bills fan thing…).

We’ve heard from so many people both that night and afterward who loved your performance. You guys made more than a few fans, and we’d love to come see you perform some time in Annapolis or if you ever play in DC. If you have an email list for your performances, please add us to it. Also, some of our friends from Annapolis who were at the wedding are interested in seeing you again and at least one of them was interested in booking you guys in the future!

If you ever need a recommendation, don’t hesitate to ask – we’d be more than happy to do it.

And lastly our sincerest thanks for making the trek to WV because I know that must have taken a good chunk of weekend time away from your families. Not sure if you guys stuck around much late night (though I sure hope you did), but we hope you enjoyed the entire experience.

Music is such a big part of our lives and you nailed the songs and the mood at our wedding, so thanks so much again and I hope we can stay in touch.

All our best,
Frank and Allison

Dan,
I just wanted to thank you for showing unbelievable valor and outstanding character. You hunkered down under a tiny tent and toughed it out with all of us. You were willing to endured extreme downpours, lightning and thunder. It was incredible to see the community of Fair Oaks persevere along with you (Musical Viking Dan Haas) to make the 15th annual Lobsterfest a great time. You put yourself and your equipment on the line with us to serve up a fantastic evening again. I believe this was one of our most successful Lobsterfests in years! It almost goes without saying that your music completely rocks and you totally get the Fair Oaks community … in my opinion.

Please know until you, we never had an entertainer back in the 8-9 years I’ve been involved with Lobsterfest. If you are willing to join us yet another year, we would love to have you back yet again.

Thank you so much!!!
Charlie
