Garrett Gleason is an American guitarist, pianist, performer, and songwriter. Raised in Massachusetts, he had music training in his youth at Boston’s Berklee College of Music via yearly summer programs and later through private instruction from faculty Mark White. After obtaining his B.A. in Jazz Studies at University of Maryland School of Music under direction of Chris Vadala, Garrett moved outside Washington D.C. to embrace freelance studio music work, performance opportunities, and music education, through which he developed a stronger passion for world music and fusion. He has recorded with international artists such as Plini and Adaora, performed with international artists like Samini and Uche Agu and at pristigious venues such as the Kennedy Center and Strathmore Mansion, opened for artists such as TTNG, Tricot, and Bent Knee with his original music, and toured Europe with the Boston Show Band in the summer of 2017. Garrett’s latest album for trio, “Well,” will be released in fall 2018.
