Tabla for Two are Masood Omari and Abigail Greenway. Masood Omari is a tabla master in the Punjab lineage. He was born in Ghazni, Afghanistan and received his gurmani (mastership) in 2002 from his ustad (most respected teacher and master) Araf Chishty in Islamabad, Pakistan. The Punjab lineage is a strict, highly disciplined school of tabla. Masood shares this lineage with Zakir Hussain, the most well known tabla player in the world today.

Masood has accompanied some of the greatest classical Afghani and Pakistani singers on stages in Europe and America. His playing is powerful and graceful. Masood has composed exciting original compositions blending classical Eastern beats with Western style, producing a powerful fusion for the tabla. Besides playing the tabla, Masood is also proficient at playing the dholak, the harmonium and he is a talented singer.

Abigail is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania and is now living in the Washington DC area. She went from a career in visual arts to a career in music once she met her teacher, Masood Omari. After devoting years to the intense study and practice of classical Eastern music, Tabla for Two was formed.

Abigail has been a lifelong lover of all kinds of music, especially classical (both Western and Eastern), world beats, avant garde and jazz. Coming to tabla has been a natural evolution of these interests.

Her art has always been imaginative and uniquely expressive, reflecting her colorful nature. She has had four one-woman shows and was included in an exhibit at the Erie Art Museum. Her art hangs in many private collections. Now Abigail brings her enthusiasm, joy and energy to Tabla for Two. Playing the tabla and harmonium is an expansion of her artistic expression.
