Now based in Washington DC, Eli has been traveling the globe for two decades and weaving his experiences into fresh folk anthems of personal empowerment, natural awareness, and finding one’s place in the world.Rooted in the Americana tradition, Eli’s influences range from the flamenco progressions of Andalusia, Spain, enchanting minor chords from Israel and the Middle East, and powerful melodies from the southwestern United States. His songwriting showcases authentic lyrics and an honest style that comes straight from the heart and welcomes the listener to participate in the music.
Eli has performed all over the United States from Bloomington, Indiana to the deserts of Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada; from the artistic enclaves of Portland, Oregon to the streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In Washington DC, he’s been the kickoff performer at the Music on the Mall Festival, was featured at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage with the METRO Performs series, and has also played at the US Capitol building supporting DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. Now on what he calls, ‘The Beltway Tour,’ Eli has been performing at hundreds of venues throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia in clubs, taverns, festivals, house shows, wineries, art exhibits, markets, resorts, and community events. As a solo singer-songwriter, the instruments Eli integrates into his performances are wide ranging–-acoustic guitar, mandolin, native flute, harmonica, keyboard, melodica, and a host of beat boxing and other percussive styles; and once he’s got his loop pedal locked in, it’s like listening to the sound of a full band. With big things to come just around the corner, now is the perfect time to join Eli’s growing fan base.
