Just the Two of Us is widely regarded as one of the best Duo’s in the Washington, DC area. Jennifer and Greg perform regularly in the duo, for events from private corporate and social events, to weddings and receptions, to featured musical offerings at Wolf Trap, The Kennedy Center, and many other world-class venues in the Washington, DC area.
Jennifer is a versatile guitarist in styles ranging from traditional Classical Guitar to Jazz to Pop to Rock’n’Roll. She performs both as a soloist, and in diverse musical settings from a Classical Duo to a 9-piece Variety Band performing Swing to Motown to Rock to Pop to Country.
Greg is one of the most demanded woodwind artists in the Washington, Dc area. His accomplishments include a Master of Music degree, and doctoral work with studies at the Eastman School of Music, and private study with Eddie Daniels, Ramon Ricker, Dick Oatts and Rayburn Wright.
Greg has distinguished himself as an award-winning music educator. He has performed across the country as an artist/clinician for school groups.
Greg is the three-time recipient of the Virginia Governor’s Outstanding Music Educator Award in 1997, 2001 and 2005 and is a featured artist/educator sponsored by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, Georgetown University, and is a participant in the Kennedy Center’s Artist/Educator program.
He has been featured as a Jazz performer/lecturer for many national and international corporate events, has been commissioned to produce a 4 CD-ROM on the History of Jazz, and has been appointed the coordinator and leader of a music mentoring program for the New York City Public Schools.
Mr. Twombley is retired from the U.S. Army Band after serving twenty years as a soloist, producer, Human Resources Chief, and leader of the Public School Outreach program, with thousands of performances for tens of thousands of students from across the nation.
Jennifer and her husband Greg were the mainstay musicians in their duo at the 5-Star Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC for many years. They performed weekly for members of Congress, US and visiting world leaders, and many celebrities of the stage and screen.
Their versatility and class in their presentation of styles made them a hit with people from Senator Bob Dole to musician Wynton Marsalis to columnist George Will.
Equally at home in Classical Styles, Jazz and Pop, this is a duo that both thrills and entertains, and has the unique ability to be unobtrusive “under conversation” as the need arises.
