PIANIST DAVID

David began playing the piano at the age of five. Raised as a classically trained pianist, he honed his skills through dedicated practice and study.
Throughout his youth, David participated in Prince George’s County piano competitions as well as Maryland state competitions. His talent and hard work were recognized annually, earning him honors ranging from honorable mention to first place.
David attended North Carolina Central University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. He furthered his education at Howard University, graduating with a Master of Music in Music Performance and Music Composition.
After completing his studies, David performed extensively across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. His venues included hotels, bars, clubs, cafes, and outdoor music events, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
He later relocated to New York City, spending fifteen years continuing his performance career in similar venues. His dedication to music remained unwavering throughout this period.
David taught music in New York City Public Schools during his time in New York. He currently teaches music in DC Public Schools, sharing his expertise and passion for music with students.
Recently, David founded Youth Centers of America, a nonprofit organization offering a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) after school program. The organization is an official partner with DC Parks and Recreation.
David is also currently composing the score for an upcoming TV show titled “Torn.”
