Steel Drummer Domenic’s journey with the steelpan began at age 13 in his native Barbados. What started as a schoolboy’s passion quickly evolved into a masterful command of the instrument, allowing him to bridge the gap between traditional Caribbean rhythms and a sophisticated global repertoire. While many associate the steelpan solely with tropical melodies, Domenic’s formal training has allowed him to master an expansive range of genres, including classical, jazz, gospel, and contemporary pop, making him a uniquely versatile choice for high-end private gatherings.
His professional career has seen him perform on prestigious stages across the United States and the West Indies, most notably collaborating with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra. This level of performance experience ensures a seamless, professional presence at any event, whether it’s an intimate cocktail hour, a corporate gala, or an upscale garden party.
Domenic holds the distinct honor of being one of the first steelpan majors at George Mason University, where he studied under the world-renowned tutelage of Prof. Victor Provost. His specialization in Jazz Studies, combined with his experience performing with the nationally acclaimed Mason Jazz Ensemble, allows him to bring a “jazz-forward” sensibility to his sets. This means his music offers more than just background noise; it provides a curated, rhythmic experience that can be tailored to the specific energy of your event.

Beyond his performances, Domenic is a respected educator and arranger, having contributed his talents to Barbados’ annual Youth Pan Project and the Cultural Academy For Excellence (CAFE) in the U.S. Currently finishing his degree in Jazz Studies and Pre-Medicine, Domenic brings an unparalleled level of discipline and poise to his work.
